This is a rearassembly drive shaft/ final drive for a 1978-1980 Yamaha XS1100 Standard Street Model and a 1979-1980 XS1100S / XS 1100 S Special motorcycles. This is the rear pumpkin / rear drive / differential that sits on the end of the spurchasegarm and transfers power from the drive shaft to the rear wheel, and the middledrive gear that bolts onto the left rear of the motor, and the spurchasegarm.It looks to be in good shape with no play in the gears that I can feel, and little deterioration on the gear faces. There is somevarying degrees of rust, mainly from sitting in storage(see pics), butall parts are solid andwith a little maintenance ready to bolt on.The part has pretty normal wear and tear for it's age. The rubber boot and drive shaft pully are included, and are in fine working order. ! buy to purchase!! This part or parts were removed from a 1978 Yamaha XS1100 that was disassembled and placed into a storage crate several years ago. These parts have been out of the weather and under cover, and so are mostly in much better condition then what you will find elsewhere in salvage. Items with maintainable components such as seals, bearings, o-rings and gaskets should be inspected as they may need to be cleaned or rebuilt before being safely usable.
