This lens is made from a high quality plastic, and includes a diffusion lens (as did the OEM Yamaha part) to help evenly distribute the light from the tail light bulbs and make the lens seem brighter to traffic behind the bike. This is an exact or nearly exact OEM replica, it is designed to replace the OEM lens with no change in look or operation. This lens is equivilent to Yamaha Part # 1A0-84721-60-00 .
